To calculate a commission batch or create a batch consisting of Miscellaneous Adjustments you will have to use Run Commissions. These batches can be reviewed as an admin and published to payees. Once a batch is published commission reports can be viewed on the front end by payees in their Commissions tab. When a Published batch is created you will have the option to select any and multiple available batches to publish together. It is at this point you can combine different batches and see combined payee totals so you know how much needs to be paid out.

Who can access Run Commissions?

A “Main” Division Office Staff user with Admin access and the Commission option checked “Yes”, in addition to having correct permissions in Admin > User Permissions.

Where is Run Commissions?

Select Administrator tab, go to the Finance Tab and then select Run Commissions.

Instructions

To create a commission batch select the Administrator tab, go to the Finance Tab and then select Run Commissions.

Note: each batch can be titled when creating the batch via run commissions. Be sure to be consistent with how you name your batches so your payees know exactly what they are viewing

Creating a One-time batch from Misc Adjustments

To create a one-time payment batch select the Processor menu and select One Time. Then be sure to choose the month and year that aligns with the one time batch. The month and year determine which other batches the one time is grouped with when published. Next you will select the blue Commissions button. Options will appear to the left and you will select the Preview Commissions button. In this page you will be able to review the Misc. Adjustments prior to applying the batch. You can exclude items, if you do not want to include them in this batch. When searching or filtering items, all other items removed from the view will also be excluded from the batch. If the adjustments pass inspection select the blue Accept Commission button and the batch is made.

Creating an Elavon residual batch

To create an Elavon residual batch make sure the Processor is set to Elavon, then make sure the month and year of the batch you want to run are chosen in the Month and Year menus. Select the blue Commissions button to pull the data for the residual batch. You should see a merchant count, commission total, modification amount (cost rules and exemptions), and the commission bucket total after modifications are applied. (To view the exemptions and cost rule reporting select the Details link next to “Modifications” and below the modification figure. Select any of the options to open the reports.) Next, select the blue Calculate Commissions button to apply the account breakout assignments to the specified residual files. Once calculated you should see a total commissions sum which is the total amount paid out for this batch, a highest paid account figure, lowest paid account figure, and an average commissions paid figure. At this point a batch has been made and can be reviewed. IF you have commission runner rules you will have to take another step to complete the batch. You will select Process Commission Rules to apply the runner rules and the batch will update with the rules applied. A Commission Runner Rule report can be viewed by selecting the Details link next to transactions modified”.
To review batches go to the finance menu and select Commission Batches. You can find more information about commission batches in the next article.
